10 Best Dallas Bars for Holiday Cheer

The holidays are upon us! We survived Thanksgiving, and only have a few more weeks until Christmas. If you are looking to get into the holiday spirit while sipping a cocktail or two, there are a number of bars you need to check out. Whether you’re looking for over-the-top Christmas décor or a boozy, hot beverage, we have your guide to drinking in holiday style.

HIDE BAR
During the entire month of December, Hide will be taken over by New York’s Cocktail Kingdom’s Christmas Pop-Up Bar. Cocktail Kingdom started this Christmas themed pop-up in NYC, and due to its resounding success gradually rolled it out across the country in various locations. Hide is Dallas’ lucky venue for this festive pop-up and will be serving up holiday takes on traditional cocktails like the “Snowball Old Fashioned” or the “Christmapolitan” along with tons of Christmas cheer.

Each art piece in Hide has been wrapped up or topped with a present, the stools are adorned with Santa hats, and clips from vintage Christmas movies play on loop in the bar. To top it all off, the holiday glassware created by Miracle, is available for purchase and 10% of the proceeds go to Action Against Hunger. Hide is the holiday themed bar you definitely won’t want to miss this year.

PROPER ON MAGNOLIA
Proper is another lucky venue for Cocktail Kingdom’s Christmas pop-up bar and just like Hide, it is decked out with insane amounts of Christmas décor to create the perfect winter wonderland for any cocktail drinker. This is Proper’s second year to host the pop-up, and they will be bringing back popular cocktail favorites from last year, as well as some cheery new additions.

OLD MONK
Old Monk is a Dallas staple and every year they decorate their pub and offer a wide selection of Christmas drinks. You can stay warm on the patio with a hot drink or step inside for a cozy night and enjoy a Christmas beer. Choose from any number of their winter drinks including everything from Hot Buttered Rum to Mulled Wine to a Rumchata Mint Chocolate. Head on over to their sister bar, Skellig on Henderson, for most of the same delicious drinks.

DOUBLE & SINGLE WIDE
Double Wide is Dallas’ premier trailer park bar serving up live music and stiff drinks, and each holiday season they whip up creative, boozy takes on both frozen and hot winter classics, including Frozen Eggnog, Hot Apple Pie or Thin Mint, a warmed up twist on their classic Yoohoo Yeehaw with a shot of Rumple Minz and Whipped Cream.
If you just can’t get enough, pop over to Single Wide; Double Wide’s sister bar which is self-proclaimed as, “half the trailer, all the trash!” for more Christmas spirit and the same fun drinks.

THE ADOLPHUS
If you want to drink in style, stay downtown and visit the Adolphus hotel. The City Hall Bar along with the French Room Bar have created hand-crafted holiday themed drinks to put you in the spirit! It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a festive drink in a stylish, sophisticated environment, plus the whole atmosphere is already cozy!

TINY VICTORIES
After you snap a selfie with the “Merry Christmas Ya Filthy Animal” neon wall in the Bishop Arts District, hop a reindeer and fly a few blocks over to Tiny Victories. They’re serving up their delicious drinks and cocktails in Christmas style this year. This friendly neighborhood spot has transformed into the ‘North Pole Pub.’ It is full of décor and Christmas cheer until December 31st so stop by for a cozy drink before the new year.

RATTLESNAKE BAR
If you are looking to get dressed up and see some stunning Christmas décor, head over to the Ritz Carlton’s Rattlesnake Bar. While the menu itself isn’t featuring any specific holiday themed drinks, the hotel’s holiday décor is sure to get you in the Christmas spirit. The Rattlesnake bar offers happy hour from 4:00-6:00 Monday-Friday with a selection of snacks and drinks at much lower prices, including Dean’s Margarita for only $7. The Mansion is one of Dallas’ most beautiful venues and with the addition of holiday décor, you’re sure to have the perfect wintry night. This elegant, dimly lit bar is currently featuring their Fall menu which offers drinks like the Pumpkin Old Fashioned or the Autumn Fig. Make sure to pop by during happy hour from 4:00-7:00 Monday through Friday to enjoy half priced wine by the glass and $9 select cocktails.
